Discover one of the tests conducted in the laboratory on bed bases: durability and impact.

Objectives of the test:

Vertical impact: Simulate a person sitting abruptly on their bedding

Durability: Ensure that the bed base's suspension holds up over time

Principle of the test:

VERTICAL IMPACT TEST

  • A standardized test mattress is placed on the bed base
  • A 25 kg impactor performs
  • 10 drops from a height of 18 cm...
  • ... at 7 to 8 specific points

After this test, no damage should be observed.

The method used: It is standardized; it is EN 1725 (7.4)

BED BASE SLEEPING SURFACE DURABILITY TEST

  • A standardized test mattress is placed on the bed base
  • A force of 1000 N (approximately 100 kg) is applied to the sleeping surface for 3 seconds
  • The cycle is repeated 10,000 times at 3 locations

After this test, no damage should be observed.

The method used: It is standardized; it is EN 1725 (7.3)
