Objective of the test:

Ensure that your mattress complies with the declared dimensions.

Principle of the test:

THICKNESS/HEIGHT MEASUREMENT

The mattress is placed on a table. A 3m, 12.5kg aluminum ruler is used.
The ruler is placed diagonally on the mattress.
Measure the distance between the table and the ruler on each side of the ruler.
The same thing is measured on the other diagonal, making a total of 4 values.

The height is the average of the 4 measurements.

WIDTH MEASUREMENT

The mattress is placed on a table. Presser pads are applied on each side of the mattress along its length.
Each pad exerts a force of 15 N.
Measure the distance between the pads.
This way, 3 measurements are taken.
The width is the average of the 3 measurements.

LENGTH MEASUREMENT

The mattress is placed on a table. Presser pads are applied on each side of the mattress along its width.
Measure the distance between the pads at two points.
The length is the average of the 2 measurements.
