Discover one of the mechanical tests performed on office chairs: the maximum deflection.

Test Objective:

Ensure that the chair withstands when subjected to the full range of motion (maximum deflection).

Test Procedure:

• Load the chair with 75kg and lock the legs.
  
  
  
• Unlock the backrest tilting mechanism and put the spring under moderate tension.
  
  
  
• Apply a necessary and sufficient force at the maximum tilting position...
  
  
  
• And repeat this 100,000 times!
  

Test Method: This method was developed by FCBA.

An NF certified chair must pass this test without damage and continue to function perfectly.
