The NF Ameublement certification is well-deserved: Episode 12!
The product you see before you proudly bears the NF label.
Perfect, but what has it done to earn it? A long journey of qualification littered with successive steps, the main one being compliance with a technical reference system: a list of rigorous normative tests established by FCBA and validated by users.
Do you want to see it?
Discover two mechanical tests conducted on tables: vertical impact and horizontal fatigue.
Objectives of the test:
• VERTICAL IMPACT: Evaluate the strength of a table subjected to vertical impacts (e.g., falling objects)

• HORIZONTAL FATIGUE: Check the durability of tables subjected to repeated lateral forces

Test principles:
VERTICAL IMPACT
• A series of 10 impacts are applied to the table's surface

• The drop height is 18 cm (according to the table type)
The impactor weighs 25 kg!

• At the end of the test, no damage should be observed
Test principles:
HORIZONTAL FATIGUE
• First, the table legs are locked

• Then, the table is loaded (50 kg)

• Lateral forces are alternately applied (along the length and width) 10,000 times, 5 cm from the edges

• The 300 N forces are gradually applied

• At the end of the test: the measured amplitude should be less than 2 cm
Both methods used are standardized; it's the NF EN 12521.
An NF-certified piece of furniture will withstand this particularly selective test!
