NF Mobilier Professionnal Earns Its Mark: Episode 1!

The product before your eyes proudly carries the NF mark. But what has it done to earn it? A long journey of qualifications filled with successive steps, the primary one being conformity to a technical reference framework established by FCBA and approved by users.

Discover one of the mechanical tests conducted on school or communal chairs: tipping backward and falling on the front legs.

Objective of the test:

Verify the durability of the chair subjected to repeated stress.

Principle of the test:

  • The chair's seat is loaded with 75kg.
  • The rear legs are immobilized.
  • Sufficient force is applied to the backrest...
  • to lift the front legs by 3cm.
  • The force is released as quickly as possible, allowing the front legs to fall freely.

  • 6,000 cycles of backward tipping/falling on the front legs are thus performed.

The method used was specifically developed by FCBA.

NF-certified furniture will withstand this particularly selective test: no degradation having a direct impact on the functions and the structural integrity should be observed after the test.
