Discover one of the mechanical tests conducted on school or communal chairs: tipping backward and falling on the front legs.

Objective of the test:

Verify the durability of the chair subjected to repeated stress.

Principle of the test:

The chair's seat is loaded with 75kg.
The rear legs are immobilized.
Sufficient force is applied to the backrest...
to lift the front legs by 3cm.
The force is released as quickly as possible, allowing the front legs to fall freely.
6,000 cycles of backward tipping/falling on the front legs are thus performed.

The method used was specifically developed by FCBA.

NF-certified furniture will withstand this particularly selective test: no degradation having a direct impact on the functions and the structural integrity should be observed after the test.
