Geprüfte Sicherheit : Tested Safety

The GS certification (Geprüfte Sicherheit - "Tested Safety" in English) guarantees the safety of products and the protection of the health of their users.

Health	Safety

This certification mark is the property of the German government (more specifically, the ZLS, the federal central organization responsible for safety). It attests that certified furniture complies with the requirements of the German Product Safety Act (ProdSG), as well as German (DIN), European (EN), and European directives or regulations.

These requirements are outlined in the certification mark's framework, which consists of:

• General rules
• Management procedures
• Technical specifications

The FCBA technological institute is authorized by ZLS to award the GS mark.

Conditions for Obtaining GS Certification

It is only awarded when the manufacturer's commitment is quantifiable and measurable.

To have their product GS certified, the manufacturer must:

• Provide evidence through product testing and factory audits that the product complies with the framework.
• Guarantee that the products sold match those that were tested.
